New Planters in the Derby Station Garden

New Planters in the Derby Station Garden

Jul 2024

Thanks to a Community Engagement Fund grant from CrossCountry we have been able to create and fill five large wooden trough planters at the front of the station. These were built from railway sleepers by East Midlands Railway’s wonderful Station Service Technicians, Neil and Kev. Tracsis volunteers, the new EMR station adopters at Derby, then filled the planters with compost and planted them up with colourful and fragrant flowering plants to enhance the environment for passengers and pollinators. We hope that these will provide an improved welcome to the city of Derby.
