Kidsgrove became an important part of the industrial development of North Staffordshire following the discovery of coal in the 18th century. It was first called Harecastle Station, then Kidsgrove Central, then simply Kidsgrove.
It’s now a great place to go for walks along the Trent and Mersey Canal. Where it enters the infamous Harecastle Tunnel the water is orange due to nearby iron-rich springs! A short walk takes you the beautiful Bathpool Park, also the location of Ski Kidsgrove.
Please note, the Ticket Office, Refreshments and Toilets are open mornings only.
