David has a longstanding interest in railways, together with extensive and varied experience of working in local government in the East Midlands. Working predominantly within the fields of environmental protection and traffic & transportation, he became aware of the activities of the North Staffordshire Community Rail Partnership. He has also worked voluntarily to promote minority community interests, as well as being a trustee of a specialist college which provides residential care and is a centre of excellence for people with autism.
